MediZen Advanced Imaging will offer area physicians a state-of-the-art facility where they can send their patients for diagnostic imaging services such as MRI, CT, mammography and ultrasound, knowing they will receive the highest standard of care from board-certified radiologists. The center will also offer imaging services for those seeking early disease prevention. MediZen will focus on early detection of: heart disease, lung cancer, colon cancer, osteoporosis and other ailments such as aneurysms.

MediZen houses the Open MRI, providing a new standard in comfort, and the latest generation multislice CT scanner, the GE Lightspeed 16, the fastest CT available on the market today. This fast scanner insures accuracy in the detection and diagnosis of disease with minimal exam time and low radiation exposure.

MediZen Imaging Center will provide services including:
• MediZen Cardiac Calcium Scan - MediZen Advanced Imaging CT Cardiac Calcium Scan examination takes precise images of the heart to reveal how much calcium is present - a reliable marker for the presence of heart disease. This exam helps measure the level of cardiac risk and gives people the opportunity to take preventive measures.
• MediZen Virtual Colonography – Colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States. The Virtual Colonography is a noninvasive study of the colon utilizing carbon dioxide and advanced 3-D imaging to view the colon without inserting a long tube. There is no need for anesthesia and it does not require a hospital or outpatient stay. According to the American Cancer Society, colorectal cancer is 90 percent preventable with regular screening.
• MediZen CT Angiogram - MediZen CT Angiogram uses the 16 slice helical CT scanner to produce pictures of the flow of blood inside the arteries. This has traditionally been done invasively, with a catheter inserted in the arteries. Now, this procedure can be preformed completely non-invasively.
• MediZen Head Scan - MediZen Head Scan is one of the fastest and most convenient ways to examine the brain, skull and neck for cancers, strokes, aneurysms, and other diseases. This scan can also image the sinuses and identify any sinusitis, polyps or masses. According to the Mayo Clinic, about three to five percent of the U.S. suffers from brain aneurysms. Brain tumors are the second fastest growing cause of cancer death among those over 65.
• MediZen Low Dose Lung Screening: Lung cancer is the number one cancer-related death in both men and women in the U.S. By using the ultra-fast imaging capabilities of the Lightspeed 16, images of the lungs are taken in very thin slices. This makes it possible to detect growths significantly smaller than what can be seen with a conventional chest X-ray. By identifying smaller lesions, more treatment options can be considered.
• MediZen Whole Body Scan: Whole Body Imaging is a combination of the Cardiac Calcium Scan, Lung Screening and imaging of other vital organs in the abdomen. This study aids in the early detection of a number of potential diseases and abnormalities.
• MediZen Osteoporosis Scan: According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, most Americans are unaware they have osteoporosis, or the “silent disease,” until bones become so fragile that a mere strain, bump or fall causes a fracture or a collapsed vertebra. MediZen’s state-of-the-art Osteoporosis Scan using ultra fast CT can quickly and painlessly measure a person’s bone calcium content.
